FORD FOUNDATION BOOK RELEASE
Ford Foundation, New Delhi has come forward to assist this department in the Documentation and Publication of Groundwater data in the form of bulletins and booklets for dissemination in Tamil Nadu State. Utilising their assistance, the booklet on “Groundwater Resources of Tamil Nadu - Present status of Development” was published and released by the Honourable Minister for Public Works Department, Government of Tamilnadu in June – 1994. Subsequently the first Districtwise Groundwater Bulletin on “Groundwater Perspectives – A Profile of Madurai District” was published in September 1995. The other Districtwise Groundwater Bulletins published are Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Dindigul, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallore, Salem, Namakkal, Trichy, Pudukottai, Erode, Villupuram, Tirunelveli, Ramanthapuram Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Thoothukudi, Karur, Sivagangai, Perambalur, Virudunagar, Kanyakumari, Theni, Nilgiris, Chennai and Madurai(2005) Districts.

On 12.02.2005 "Groundwater Perspective A profile of Virudhunagar" And "Groundwater Perspective A profile of Kanniyakumari" were released. | |
